Show NO RECOGNITION FOR THE UNION Employees of tho Utah Light and Railway Company Notified as to What They May Expoct. i EMPLOYES of the Utah Light & Railway company have been formally notified that the company com-pany will not recognize the newly-organized' Streetcar Men's union. The notification was glvon at a meeting of, officials oe the company v.ith about a dozen of the employees, held nt the Instance In-stance of General Manager Campbell, Who Informed the men that the company com-pany would' treat with them only as employees and not its an organization. At the same time, he said, the company wns leady at any tlmo to adjust any grievance the men might havo and treat with them In a spirit of fairness. The men said that they merely desired to get the benefits of organization; that they had no thought of antagonizing the company, but thought that by having hav-ing an organization they would be able to save time and trouble In formulating formulat-ing and presenting grievances as they might arise. The men will report to tho next meeting of the union the result of the conference. Organizer Pratt of tho Amalgamated association left yesterday yester-day for the East. |
