Yarnell killed a Mexican sheepherder while on a drunk last winter. It Is alleged, without provocation. On the first ballot only two were for acquittal. It is said, but finally the sentiment changed, so that all but two of the Jurymen wero for acquittal. ac-quittal. These two men stood out for convlcition. The publicity caused by tho trial will make It practically Imnosslblo to hav a second trial at Vernal, and the caso will be retried at Frovo next month., Thur-man Thur-man and King are defending Yarnell. At Vernal his drunken ccapades have put so much money Into the treasury that he inas boasted that he paid 75 per cent of the expense of paving Vernal's streets with asphalt. It Is alleged that the Mexican who was killed by Yarnell was his fourth victim. Y'arnell has many friends among an element ele-ment It Is not considered safo to oppose, and even at Price, word comes that It Is safer to speak well of Harry than to tell facts. |
