Show 900 PASSENGERS BLOCKED BY MUD Bursting oil Mountain Lake Hurls Avalanche of Soft Earth Upon Southern Pacific Tracks. HORN BROOK, Cal., April 15. Immense Im-mense avalanches have been caused here by the bursting of a mountain lake, and the Southern Pacific tracks are covered by mud and rocks for a considerable distance. The slide Is considered the worst in recent history and will probably delay trafllc forty-eight hours at the least. Ten trains are stalled as a result of the slide and fully 900 passengers are on the ground. The first slide occurred at 2 o'clock Wednesday and covered the track to a depth of eight feet for a distance of 200 feet. The second slide was at the same place and was fifty feet long. The material ma-terial which slid down the mountain was mostly soft earth and pnow, requiring re-quiring considerable time for its removal. re-moval.
