Show IMPORTANT STRIKE . IN liSAL REGION Special to The Tribune. BASIN, La Sal Mts., April 35. The north side of the La Sal mountains comes to the front this week with another an-other important strike in the same locality lo-cality us the Hatch mine in Sinbad valley. The fortunalo discoverers arc J. I. Hamlin and William Coogle, who recently gult placer mining near Dewey and went to one of their old abandoned claims In Line Gulch and went to work, being encouraged with having a similar showing in the sandstone formation to that of thR Hatch property. The second day's work brought them into mineral which is reported to be very high in copper and silver. Parties Just over from there slate that the ore is similar to that of tho Paradox-La Sal mine and will run 50 cents a pound. It Is good shipping and pay ore at Grand Junction at $50 a ton. such as tho Hatch Brothers arc taking out and shipping from their property in Sinbad valley. Tho locality lo-cality Is filling up with prospectors and' other good finds may be looked for. It is learned from a very good source that P. T. Stevens has consummated a deal whereby lie has gained control of tho Paradox-La Sal mines on the east side of the rangf, and has also completed com-pleted arrangements for the building of a branch lino of railroad from Placcr-ville. Placcr-ville. Colo., down the San Miguel river to Naluriia and up the Dolores to La Say creek, at Cashin where these mines are located. Some time ago Mr. Stevens Ste-vens aisposed of his ranches and cattle Interests, bolh here ojid in Colorado, with a view of taking hold of tho Paradox-La Sal mines,- and in his doing so tho long siege of litigation, in which this property bus been. involved, is now at an end. He has a Boston syndicate associated with him and now they arc preparing things at the property for business. The railroad route was surveyed last season by the McBrldc company, but conflicting Interests at the mines put a quietus on the projocL This fight has been golni; on now for the past three years and one of the most valuable silver sil-ver and coppor producers in this Western West-ern country lias been compelled to He Idle, also a smelling plant which, had been built at a great cost, Mr. Steven's Ste-ven's -possession of the property will now put a stop to company troubles and the mines will be worked to their full capacity.
