Wo believe that the Mining Congress did well to change name and organization organiza-tion as It did in Its session which has Just closed at Butte There was no particular reason that we can see why the pretense of an International character char-acter that did not exist should be kept up while on the other hand a firmer and more wieldy organization for tho body In the United States was desirable desira-ble The new American Mining Congress Con-gress which suqcccds the old congress appears to bo organized on good bus Ines lines and Its ofllcero are happily chosen The congress has a great and I sufficient work to do In advocating nnd dealing with the mining Interests of this country and from time to lime In assembling the best mining talent to discuss and pass upon live questions affecting the mining Interests
