Show SWINDLER AT SEARCHLIGHT Achieving Fine Results in the Old GoldBearing Camp Of the Duplex Mining companys properties at Searchlight Nev of which Frank P Swindler formerly of this city Is the manager W A Scott who has heen tramping over the route of the San Pedro between Callentes and the present terminus out of Los Angeles says in the Mining Reporter of Denver There are six claims in the Duplex Du-plex group covering a vein that parallels that of the Quartette From a 100foot shaft there aro over 2000 feet of lateral work which opens the vein about 585 feet on its strike A crosscut cross-cut Is being driven 600 feet from the main vein to open two parallel veins on the rame group Tho main vein has a dip of i per cent and ranges In width from n few Inches to ten feet The ore is a quartzporphyry carryIng carry-Ing free gold that plates about 75 percent per-cent of the assay value The tailings which contain about S5 per ton are being banked for future cyanide work The mill on the property has ten stamps Thus far the ore mined has paid for all development The ore is as free milling at the 400foot level n on the higher levels and this Is also true of the other mines of the district In spite of the very small per cent of copper In Duplex ores they are said to cyanide well The bullion runs about 7fiO fine in gold the balance In silver |
