Show DIED OF HS NJURIES Wayne Brown Victim of Coasting Collision Dead DISPLAYED ADMIRABLE GRIT Although Suffering Intense Agony the Little Fellow Smiled in Recognition Recog-nition of His Parents When They Came to His Bedside and Bore Up Bravely Under the Terrible Pain During the Entire Day Precautions Precau-tions Will Be Taken to Prevent Other Coasting Accidents Little Wayne Brown the elevenyear old son ot Hal Brown who was seriously seri-ously Injured while coasting down the D street hill Wednesday evening died of his Injuries at the Holy Cross hospital hos-pital late last night AVliIle the external exter-nal Injuries were Insufficient to cause death yet the attending physicians say that the terrible shock of being thrown against and under the First street car with which his sled collided was too much for the boys system to withstand with-stand At G oclock last evening he was relieved from the agony which he had endured all day by lapsing into Insensibility Insen-sibility At 1015 oclock last night ho passed away while his griefstricken parents were at the bedside The remains re-mains were removed to Evanss undertaking un-dertaking establishment From the hour of the accident until late yesterday afternoon It was thought young Wayne had an even chance for his life Ills injuries werefound to consist con-sist of a severe laceration of the right hand a fracture of the left leg and live ugly bruises about the body Tho little fellow bore up bravely and made pitiful efforts to smile when his parents and several close friends of the family were allowed to visit his bedside His grit would have been admirable oven In a person of mature years and he was uncomplaining up to the time of sinking sink-ing Into unconsciousness Wayne was born in this city August 2S 1SOO For several years past ho has attended the Lowell school where he was very popular both with the teachers teach-ers and pupils of the school who will be deeply grIeved to learn of his sad death There has been no effort to place the blame of the lamentable accident which caused his death TIm driver of the First street car with which the sled coljidcd had not sufficient time to reverse re-verse his motor na the sled shot suddenly sudden-ly out of the darkness directly in front of his car and at a much higher rato of speed than that of the car |
