Show END OF A USEFUL LIFE Mrs Winnifred S Grissom Falls a Victim to Apoplexy at Home of Her Daughter I Mrs Winifred S Grisson died last night from apoplexy at the home of her laugh tel Mrs George H Woods In this city She had been sick just twentyfour hours Dr A C Ewing the attending physician did all that was within his power to save her but she never regained her consciousness conscious-ness which she hud lost about three hours after she was seized The deceased had been residing with her daughter Mrs George II Wood wife of the late County Auditor She was also the mother of Frank 1 Dyer who was United Stales i Marshal of the Territory of Utah during I Clevelands first Presidential administration i administra-tion Ho died here In 1S92 as Va honored and respected citizen both in social and PolitIcal circles A G Dyer her other lon Is still living and Is a resident of this city Mrs Grisson was born in Yuroo county Mississippi In 1S31 Consequently sho was G years old at the time of her death She lived In Mississippi until 1SS7 when she came to Utah with her daughter the Mtsont Mrs Wood She Joined her son Frank then Marshal of the Territory and lived with him until his death since which line she has been living wllh her daughter Mrs Wood She leaves a sinter sin-ter Mrs W A White who still resides in Yuzoo county Mississippi Mrs Grls Hons first husband Mr Dyer served In the army of the Confederacy during tho CivIl war In 1S03 while returning to his regiment ho was killed by tho accidental tailing of n tree In 1ECJ she was married to Martin V GrlSBon and lived with him until his decease In 18S4 Shortly after his death she came to Utuh At the time of her death Mrs Grlsson sins Just recovering from a very painful accident On tho 2olh of last February while walking on the street near the Pal mice hotel In Sun Francisco she slipped und In falling her right log I was broken She wan confined to a hospital there for along a-long time and was subsequently brought lme anl wal 11e < le t brought home At the present time she had Just recovered inifflulonlly to walk about the house on crutches Her death was sudden and unexpected She had never Buffered from the dlncnso before It wan a most unexpected attack Mrs Grlsson WHH u typical Southern woman wo-man She was well known In thn cIty both us a woman of sterling quality und good Judgment Her hanoI will take place next Thursday at 2 oclock from the residence resi-dence of George 1L Wood The funeral servIces have not an yet been definitely determined Friends and old cclrrllned Ind 011 acquaintances acquaint-ances are Invited to bo present Tho Interment In-terment will be private |
