Show WESTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN Christmas Programme Joyously Carried Car-ried Out Westminster Presbyterian church was crowded full lust night with happy hap-py Sundayschool children their parents pa-rents and friends in attendance on the Christmas tree celebration at which there was a representation called The First Christmas Story There was a large tree loaded with candy oranges and other good things occupying one corner and Santa Claus was Impersonated Imper-sonated by Conductor William Havener of the Short Line Mrs Bailey was In charge of tho music and a pleasant programme was carried out There was a pretty choral by Misses Ada Danley Lucy Krebs Katie MaKtcrton and Minnie Hawkins Then five little girls sang Light After Darkness fol lowed by I six chorals from the children recitations and other enjoyable exercise exer-cise and then the tree was made to give up Its presents Fifteen pounds of candy was given to Miss Anna Fre leighs class as binS the class with the greatest credit for the years work and Superintendent H N Tollcs pre ToIe sented each teacher with a calendar containing a picture of the Westminster Westmin-ster church The children enjoyed themselves so that i was late before they could get away from Santa Claus amigo home Snta Soliciting for the Poor A h usotolnus onnvoss has been made under the auspices of the bishops oC the various wards and Christmas gifts solicited fO the poor In order that they may spend a merry Christmas Christ-mas in reality I was said last even ing that all appeals had been prompt ly and generously met and as a canvass can-vass of the needy had been previously made there would be no difficulty In de lyrIng the goods to the proper per sons today I Is also said that no discrimination will be made because of color or of religious belief All who are worthy will have relief so long as the goods hold out |
