The older children are weaving baskets, and many of the older girls are designing pillow pil-low slips and table cloths. Designs De-signs have been placed upon the material by means of a heavy press. The tennis and dancing classes clas-ses ara becoming larger and much Interest has been manifest In these two classes. A bus leaves Copperton at eight-thirty eight-thirty and nine o'clock each morning. morn-ing. Interest in the Pet Show to be held this Friday Is being created each day. The children are preparing pre-paring to capture any stray animal ani-mal to bring as their pets. Many of the little people are planning to dress their pets up In costumes. cos-tumes. Last Friday the children en-Joyed en-Joyed a matinee dance. Points were given to the children who danced best. Molly May Culleton, Mickey Culleton and Bobby Culleton Culle-ton were first place winners. In the art classes the little children are making paper mats and baskets by weaving paper together. to-gether. Some of them have niadu posters advertising the pet show. The older girls are making waste paper baskets with paper lining taken from Chrlslmas envelopes. The refold story class has been dramatizing the story of "The Three Bears'' and "The Three Little Pigs". The youngsters are very fond of this and most of them have overcome their stage O Playground Happenings by Alida Thomas j Two interesting events have been held at the playground. Recently Re-cently a bubble blowing contest was held. The children were divided di-vided into groups according to their age. Points were awarded to the players who blew the largest larg-est bubble and to the person whose bubble remained intact for the longest period of time. Last Friday a doll contest was held. Points were awarded, for the oldest old-est doll, the originality of the dolls costume, the daintiness and prettiness of ihe doll. Mary Lou Lyons won first place with her doll which had belonged to her grandmother. The age of the doll was seventy-five years. Many dolls of various nationalities were represented. re-presented. Next week the children child-ren are looking forward with a |
