Show CENTRAL SCHOOL BAND WINNER OF VALUABLE HORN Copperton And Central Bands Parades At Nephi Celebration The Bingham Central school band of 29 members and 27 from the Copperton grade school band traveled to Nephi last Thursday to participate with 25 other Utah school bands In the Ute Stampede. Joel Jensen, band instructor, accompanied ac-companied the band members. A valuable $150 French horn was won by the Bingham Central school when Joel Jensen drew the winning number from a hat which contained 27 envelopes, a chance j for each band participating in the Nephi parade. Mr. Jensen drew again to see whether Copperton or the Central school would win the instrument, given by the King Irvine Music company of Salt Lake City. Mr. Jensen drew the Central school name, and they will be owners of the horn. M'r. Jensen states that bands will continue concert work thru-out thru-out the summer. A concert will be played next Thursday evening in front of the postoffice by the junior bands. If the senior band does not begin to show more interest in-terest in their work, instruction for them will be discontinued until un-til next year. O |
