Show THIRTEENTH WARD PICNIC SundaySchool Workers Spend a Day at Lagoon The Sundayschool workers of the Thirteenth ward conducted an excursion excur-sion to Lagoon yesterday and had avery a-very enjoyable time The event was in charge of the superintendency and teachers of the school and between 300 and 100 people went out to spend 1 the day The sporting programme consisted of races and some of the winners of prizes among the children were Miss Russell Eva Higby and Master W RusselL The young ladys race was won by Miss Edith Grant Allen Howard was the successful competitor com-petitor In the young mens race The race between the superintendents of the school was won by C P Podersen In the needlethreading contest between be-tween the married and single ladies the prize was awarded to the married ladies each of whom was presented with some article of silk Thp jumping match was won by W J McDonald The married and single men engaged in a game of baseball hut were unable to finish the game on account of darkness dark-ness In the evening dancing was enjoyed by a large l number of the visitors |
