| Show I VETERAN FIREMANS PLANS Propose to Erect a Building on Site Furnished ly City I Ii i Now that the city has granted the Veteran Volunteer Firemens association associa-tion a lease on the property In City Creek canyon which the members have so long desired the association proposes pro-poses to go to work at once and erect a building The old hall on South Temple Tem-ple street which has been occupied by the association for so long has been entirely too small The lease has been received wfth great pleasure by the old boys who in the past for years followed the motto We aim to aid and work to save and now a united effort is to be made to accumulate sufficient means to erect a suitable building As to the size of the structure much will depend upon the success this winter that Is attendant at-tendant upon the raising of money I Is thought however that nothing less than two stories will do the lower part Jart to be used for the storing of the baby engine and other curiosities of the long ago and the upper part for a hall for meetings and social functions In every city In the United States the veteran vet-eran volunteer firemen occupy a large space In the hearts of the people and It is believed that the feeling exists here I so then the old fellows will not be 5ng l without a building In which they may house their relics assemble around the social board fight their fires over again and leave I to the generations genera-tions yet to come trophies that will be worth to the city and the State much more than they arc now valued at |
