Show Utah Demos Urged to Attend West Meeting in Albuquerque 1 Utah is expected to be well represented at Western States Democratic Conference in Albuquerque, Albu-querque, New Mexico, Feb. 5 and 6. Mrs. Roxey Romney, National Committeewoman from Utah, this week said the conference is expected to be one of the largest gatherings of Democrats prior to the National Convention in Los Angeles. To assist Utah Democrats to attend the conference a bus will be chartered if 40 persons sign up for the round trip, Mrs. Romney Rom-ney said. The bus would leave Salt Lake City Thursday Feb. 4, about 5 p.m. and arrive in Albuquerque Albu-querque the next morning. It would return to Salt Lale City by Monday morning. Persons who wish to obtain seats on the bus should contact Mrs. Romney or state Democratic headquarters. Mrs. Romney said any Democrat Demo-crat may attend the Albuquerque Albuquer-que gathering. r .... ..... ........... ... ; The program will include special spe-cial reports of the conference's ' committees of natural resources, transportaton and small business on Friday. Friday at 6 p.m. there will be a reception for all delegates dele-gates to which all Democratic governors of the 13 western states and Congressmen and other prominent party members have been invited. On Saturday, Feb. 6, there will be reports from several special conference "task forces" at 10 a.m. There will be a luncheon at noon in honor of Democratic National Chairman Paul Butler and vice chairman Mrs. Katie Louchheim. Business sessions will resume at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m. there will be a reception and dinner at which former President Harry S Truman and all Democratic presidential candidates have been asked to speak. Sunday will be devoted to sightseeing. |
