A mass meeting of democrats was held in the hall of Cooper Union last night to protest against holding the democratic state convention on February Feb-ruary 22nd, after only four weeks' notice. It is this convention which has been denominated "Senator Hill's Snap Convention," and tho meeting was promoted largely by the adherents of ex. President Cleveland. Among those who signed the i all were Frederick K. Coudert, ox-Mayor Tilmann, Oswald Ottendorfcr, E. Eilery Anderson, Charles J. Canada, e.v-Mayor e.v-Mayor (iraec, ex-Mayor Cooper, Everett Wheeler, ex-Sustice M. Daly, ex-Mayor Hewitt, and ex-Socretary of the Treasury Fairc'iild.
