It is announced an-nounced that Dr. Talmage's new Tabernacle Tab-ernacle will be dedicated on April 5th. The work on the great edifice is progressing pro-gressing steadily, despite the fact that none ( f the 1T.OI)0 loaned by RiS'eil Sage cau be used. The sum of $'242,000 has been expended on the building. Dr. Talmage ami his trustees are furnishing the money as it is needed. When the work is complete it will represent rep-resent on outlay ol'$'157,0IM). Judge Pratt of the supreme court gave the Tabernacle trustees permission permis-sion to raise tne sum of $.'50,000 by mortgaging the property. The money named is to secure the payment of a like amount of bonds that are to be issued is-sued by the trustees. These bonds are to be of the denomination of $10, $100 and 11000, and to bo on rive per cent interest. Thov will be payable in ten vears. Tho Mercantile Trust company of New York is to hold the mortgage as trustee for the bondholders. |
