Show MONTANA sheridan enterprise superintendent J J maloney of the bismarck nugget gulch mining company returned from the east wednesday evening via butte from the latter point he came in an automobile mr maloney was in chicago for the purpose of consulting with the stockholders of the company at this meeting some of the heaviest stockholders suggested a reorganization and this was consequently done the new organization will be known as the toledo mining milling company and will be expended on the properties in brandon it will probably take thirty days to complete all the details as some of the matters will have to go into court during this time a small crew will be retained for the purpose of handling the water and other necessary work the men will be paid tomorrow as usual and no one need feel alarmed over the changed conditions the new company will be better equipped than ever and with the past experience will have a better knowledge of developing the prop arty it is the conc esus of opinion in sheridan that the toledo will yet be a noted producer as it was years ago mr maloney will remain with the new company butte mining review there seems to be a general activity in mining circles this spring and a big strike recently made in in the bigfoot district is causing a renewal of interest in that locality dr 0 B whitford of butte who owns the state mine in in that district which is situated about twelve miles southwest of town in the whitetail range of mountains was in boulder recently and reports an excellent body of high grade ore in the face of the foot tunnel which he and mr lyon have been driving into the mountain the doctor has been mining with marked success for several years and says with his forty years of mining this strike is away ahead of anything he has heretofore encountered and as considerable ore was taken out of the claim a number of years ago it is likely that the camp will again assume its old time activity as several good prospects in that locality show every indication of becoming producers the state and other mother mines in that vicinity ard a considerable distance from the railroad and it is a rough mountain road to either whitetail or boulder and the dottor doctor has not decided on the route to take but will probably leave that to the man who contracts for the hauling |
