Show PEACOCK MINE SHIPPING statesman boise idaho ogemaw ida shipments of ore from the peacock mine commenced thursday and will continue now during the season via landore and couric council 1 four wagon loads went out on thursday f four our more on friday and it is expected the same amount will be shipped out daily until snow flies the ore goes to the tacoma smelter during the summer the company will build a new road over the hill and down indian creek to landore which will make a good snow road for the shipment of ore the coming in winter ore will then be hauled down and stored at homestead Mom stead estead for shipment over the new railroad this winter via huntington A strenuous effort I 1 is being made to complete at once the new wagon road down creek from landore to ogemaw this road will do away with some heavy grades and shorten the distance several miles the building buil dint of the road was started several years ago and is completed for about half the di distance stace it is claimed that the largest body of sulphide ore ever encountered in idaho has been opened in the arkansaw mine the main tunnel is now in about feet and is running diagonally on the ledge edge the last fifty feet of the tunnel is in high grade 1 ore which is being sacked ready for shipment the owners of the property are expected at the mine within the next few days the huntley mill on indian creek half a mile above ogemaw closed down this week but is expected to resume operations again within thirty days |
