Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NOTES Tennis Prospects Sixteen students responded to , the call for spring tennis when Mr. Peterson, the coach, put his ' notice on the bulletin board. ' Of the sixteen, five were senior sen-ior high hoys, only one of whom ' is a veteran - Spencer Jacques, who played on the team last year. 1 Seven girls appeared, most of them from the senior high division. divi-sion. Four Junior high boys were on hand. 1 As soon as the weather permits per-mits and the nets are put up dally practice will begin. There are openings for several sev-eral boys on the squad and as competition would no doubt be stimulating, anyone interested is urged to try for a place. Typing; 1'oiitent Held The Bingham high school's commercial co-mmercial department went to Cyprus high Friday the 25th to a contest. The students were treated royally while there and everyone enjoyed the day. Cyprus held a reception in the way of a tea at the beginning of the meet and students from the Cyprus music department furnished fur-nished some lovely music. The contest was held after the tea. Betty Barnett of Bingham high took second place, missing first place by only ljlO of 1 per cent. She had a score of 93.1 per cent while the winner scored 93.2 per cent. The shorthand short-hand team placed third with a score of 91 per cent, Just 2 per cent behind the score made by the winning team. Although the type team did not place it is hoped that they will be in better bet-ter condition for the B. Y. U. contest April 15th. After the contest a clever assembly as-sembly was presented and the awards made. : o- |
