A. W. Bowlhy, who has been in St. Mark's hospital under ob-servation for the past week, will undergo a major operation there Friday morning. We hope for his speedy recovery. .Mis. Leo Jones, accompanied by Miriam and Calvin Jones, spent Saturday in Salt Lake. Mrs. Hoy Shilling and daugh-ter Miss Patricia were Salt Lake visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mead, in company with Jack Vail of Coppertleld. left Monday after-noon for u motor trip to Seattle, .Wash., where they will be the guests of relatives. The party expects to visit various points of interest en route, and will re-turn home April 10th. Relief Society meeting was' dispensed with this week siuce the mouth's work had been com-pleted and so many members anticipated being out of town at that time, due to the gen-eral shut down of the Utah Coj-p- er company workings. Mrs. Evelyn Jensen entertain-ed for her daughter, Marelyn Wednesday afternoon between the hours of 3 and 6, the occasion being her 7th birthday. A color scheme of blue and yellow wri used in decorating the birthday cake and other nppolutments of the lunch table, prizes we'ro at games. Twenty small guests enjoyed the affair. J. H. Mrs. Beck of Salt Lake City spent Friday here the guest of BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NOTES Tennis Prospects Sixteen students responded to , the call for spring tennis when Mr. Peterson, the coach, put his ' notice on the bulletin board. ' Of the sixteen, five were sen-ior high hoys, only one of whom ' is a veteran - Spencer Jacques, who played on the team last year. Seven girls appeared, most of them from the senior high divi-sion. Four Junior high boys were on hand. As soon as the weather per-mits and the nets are put up dally practice will begin. There are openings for sev-eral boys on the squad and as competition would no doubt be stimulating, anyone interested is urged to try for a place. Typing; 1'oiitent Held The Bingham high school's co-mmercial department went to Cyprus high Friday the 25th to a contest. The students were treated royally while there and everyone enjoyed the day. Cyprus held a reception in the way of a tea at the beginning of the meet and students from the Cyprus music department fur-nished some lovely music. The contest was held after the tea. Betty Barnett of Bingham high took second place, missing first place by only ljlO of 1 per cent. She had a score of 93.1 per cent while the winner scored 93.2 per cent. The short-hand team placed third with a score of 91 per cent, Just 2 per cent behind the score made by the winning team. Although the type team did not place it is hoped that they will be in bet-ter condition for the B. Y. U. contest April 15th. BE IT FURTHER ORDAIN-ED, that in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Bingham Canyon, it is neces-sary for the immediate preserva-tion of the peace, health and safety of said Town and the in-habitants thereof that this Ordi-nance take effect and be in force at once; that an emergency is hereby declared; and that this Ordinance shall, therefore, take effect Immediately upon its approval and publica-tion. The water from the three springs will be collected by pipelines and conveyed to an equalizing re-servoir located approximately E. 1600 ft. and N. 400 ft. from the SW Cor. Sec. 8. T. 3 S., R. 2 W., SLB&M., from which it will be distributed to the in-habitants of the Town of Copper-to- n and there used for domestic and municipal purposes.
