to L take these subjects only which bear direct relation to the course he has in view and which will give him the best possible acquaintance with his course I and the most practical phases of his L work in his in this country I Theold The old complaint sometimes made by foreigners of being treated with scant courtesy In American schools and universities has not been uttered by any of the Filipinos On the contrary they have been received everywhere I with the utmost consideration They have been taken into In o fraternities fraternities fraternities ties and secret societies and their good Qualities as students are arc recognized r d in inI I every way On the other hand the ther r I busy little islanders have borne them themselves themselves themselves selves well wen There has never been a complaint reflecting upon the morals of good character of any of them Progress made by them in their studies has been generally excellent and andIn andin andin In many cases remarkable As about the only objection raised by the authorities is that they apply themselves to their studies too diligently sometimes to the detriment of their health Filipinos of the better classes seem three Filipino girls Senoritas Olivia Salamanca Genoveva Llamas and Luisa All were graduated with honors Miss Salamanca was graduated from the general course and this fall will enter the Womans
