Show A surr has been instituted by the county commissioner of Douglas county (Omaha) to recover the $250,-000 $250,-000 bonds issued by tho county to the Union Pacific railroad, in considera-tionof considera-tionof that company's making Omaha the eastern terminus of the road and building the Missouri bridge at its present point. The courts having decided that Council BUifls is the legal termintu this suit ia brought to determine tho right of tho company under the contract with the county to retain the bonds in question. The Omaha Herald opposes strenuously the repudiation of the bonds, aod holds out the threat that the Union Pacific company will romovo i!s workshops from Omaha to Grand Inland should such a policy prevail. |
