Don Piatt's Capitol lu-day publishes, under tbe heading, "Startling disclosures for the democratic congress," a communication com-munication from San Francisco, making mak-ing Bcrioug charges against the management man-agement of tbe Alcatraz military prison. Toe Capitol, editorially, says there is a responsible name back of this communication, and advises the house mihtaiy committee, the chair man of which is Piatt's brother-iu-law, to investigate the matter. The writer, who anonymously signs himself him-self "Old Calilornian," charges that soldiers are often imprisoned at Alcatraz Alca-traz in order to save officers' reputations, reputa-tions, and says the prison is in charge of an officer once himself a prisoner there.
