Show Anothar of Tobicco's Crimes. Tobacco now has another disease to answer for. The new disease has been discovered by Dr. Biker, secretary of the Pennsylvania state board of health, who says: "There has come under my notice for several years, but mere particularly during the last two years, a kind of rhoumatic condition of the walls of the chest. The patient complains of a dull, heavy pain in the ehent walls. The disease, in a huge majority of cases, is confined to the left side. Tho pain ia ciroiiivmcribed and limited to a space of not mure than two inches in dimm-tiT, just be-liw be-liw ami a little to the left nl the Irft nipple. At times the pin ia very severo, and always contiaut il.-ty and night when the patient is awake. I have investigated the disease to aome eiteut, and find it to lie more common com-mon among lobicco usi-rs, especially those who use the weed to exceaa. Patients su fieri ng from this complaint invariably come to their physician with tho belief tnat they Iihtq heart trouble." |
