Show TEE HOODLUM. TROUB'E. The Boys Come Back Again. Salt Lake City. Slav IS. 1S7G. Editors Herald : By to-day's issue we see that "Sufferer" "Suff-erer" is still on the warpath, but more lavish than ever with his wild assertions, in tho answering of which we do not with to screen ourselvts nor any other in the violation of law and order; neither do we like to be assailed as hoodlums before we deserve de-serve it. That there are in our ward, as in others, a few reckless fellows we admit, and will assist our suffering benefactor in showing them up wherein where-in they have been dealt with by the city authorities, if he is willing. It ia true that two little boys from the 15th ward were, not long since, taken to the police court and dealt with for tearing 08 a piece of Boukofsky's ragged sign; also we believe one or two other boys have been or ought to have been fined for fighting. Nor has it been a great while since "Sufierer" himself was hauled up and fined for acting in violation of law and order. And were the police records fir the past few years thoroughly searched we are positive that his name would appear thereon opposite certain amounts of involuntary contributions. Thus we do admit that there are a few bad cases in our ward. "Sufferer" failed to give the full particulars wherein he came so near being assassinated, or maimed lor life by that arrow, which was only the stock of a weed with a shingle nail pushed into the end of it to the head and which was not shot out of the window but accidentally dropped as the boys were pitching atone another. In his first article, as he says be told one of the boys' fathers, "My first impulse was to take my pistol and defend myself when I saw those objects ob-jects Bitting on the crossin?." How does that sound from a man possessing possess-ing bo tremendous an amount of courage as he pretends to? Just think of it I pull out a pistol to defend de-fend himself against a few harmless little boys as they aat upon the trujk. Shame I As we know nothing about "Sufferer's" "Suf-ferer's" frothing, foaming, swearing brutcbeater, and it being irrelevcnt to the case at issue, wo consider it about equal to the rest of his false assertions, Yoa, he must be a very good, quiet neighbor, else he would not say he is. Anyhow we do not believe he would like to meet his neighbors, face to face, as he says for proof. We hope "Sufferer" will not treat our parents nor ourselves with so much compassion in the future as he claims to have done in the past, but bring any of us up and have us dealt with whenever we wilfully violate any law, and we would now inform that "muchly persecuted" individual that by applying to any one of us be can obtain the name of every one connected con-nected with that street performance. Why did he not come to one of us older boys in the first place, instead of going to the very smallest of the lot for that purpose? Tub Boys, |
