Show The Weather in January. Last month was not one for bad, disagreeable weather, as the report of 3ergeant HcGillivray shows. The highest point the barometer reached was 30.27, the lowest 29.66. The temperature varied considerably, from 52 to 5. Southeast was the registered regis-tered prevailing direction of the wind, 24 miles per hour its greatest velocity, and 2,569 was the number of miles traveled. There were 12 clear, 9 clpudy and 7 wetdaya in January, the amount ol the rainfall boiug 1.07 inches. The mean temperatures for six years were as followa: 1S73, 31; 1874, 25; 1875, 29; 1876, 30; 187, 28; 1873, 30. The comparative pre cipitation: 1873, 1.63 inches; 1874, 1.04; 1875, 3.05; 1876, 1 23; 1877, 0.87; 1878, 1.07. |
