Archelaus Bairatt; the defendant was arraigned and pl&ided not guilty to tho charge of murder in the indictment. The people, etc., vs. Nathaniel V. Jones; indicted or assault with intent to do bodily harm; District Attorney Carey and J. R. McBride for the prosecution, Sutherland and Snow for the defense; trial by jury. The jury was charged, and after being out three hours, came into court and presented the following verdict: "We, tho jurors in the case of tho people vs. N. V. Jones, defendant, find him not guilty, as oharged in the indictment." indict-ment." The people, etc., vs. John G. Wiggins, Wig-gins, convicted for gambling. Tne motion in arrest of judgment and for a new trial was argued by counsel; taken under advisement by the court. I John Sevenoaks et al. vs. The Utah M. fc S. Co. ; time for notice of motion for leave to amend answer served on plaintiffs before the,hearin,shortened to three days. In the matter of Blumenthal Bros., bankrupts, the United States marshal's mar-shal's account for $396 was allowed. The Salt Lake city National bank was designated as the depository of moneys in the hands of assignees and of the clerk of the court in bankruptcy bank-ruptcy proceedings in this court. Court adjourned till 10 o'cleck a.m. on Saturday. |
