Show France and the Centennial. Paris, 8. The French commission on the United Suites centennial exposition ex-position met to-day, M. D. Lafayette presiding. Ministers Washburne, Forney and Biddle. were present. A letter was read from the minister of j commerce, who says: The French I government cannot be indifferent to j the grand solemnity. My predecessor decided it was necessary for France to take a part, because he was persuaded per-suaded the exhibition would result in the development of French relations. A permanent committee will soon be called to consider the best means to promote the French participation. Forney said he was in communication communica-tion with the Duke de Cases and Vicomte De Maux on the subject. |
