Show How is It? It is Baid that Little Cottonwood mines are looking unusually well, yet the ore shipments are no heavier now than formerly. In Bpriug the lack of shipments is attributed lo water in fbe mines which prevents labor, and thia is, of course, a very good reason. When the water season had been disposed dis-posed of, it was stated that tbe price of ore did not warrant shipments, and it was hinted that the precious article was being held back, until a more favorable market could be obtained. To-day, there ia a better market for ore than there has ever been since 3S73, ore beiDg in great demand and commanding excellent figures and yet this ore that has been "held back" does not put in an appearance. It cannot be asserted that ore is now being retained until a better price can be obtained, for no one expects a better market than that now oflered, and the water flooding theory cannot be advanced; and the conclusion is the most natural in the world that il mine owners have the ore they will ship; and yet it does not come. The inference, therefore, is that tbe ore ia wanting. How is it? |
