On the first trial of Mrs. Clem tho jury disagreed; the second and third resulted in her conviction and life sentence to the penitentiary, tho Supreme Court i. i both oises reversing re-versing the decisions. A change of venue was then taken to Boone Coun-, Coun-, ty, where the third conviction was had and a life sentence imposed. After two years of this sentence expired tho Supreme Court set aside the verdict. The filth trial resulted as above, and Mrs. Clem is now free. |
