The islands are very important im-portant to our commerce as a coaling and supply station for steamers be- tween Pacific ports, Australia, China , and Japan. The war steamer Titsca-i Titsca-i rora will sail for Honolulu Tuesday next, and it is suggested that the Navy Department might order her to j proceed to the Navigator iando for i the purpose of protecting American i interests there. A meeting of the I Chamber of Commerce, will be called here early next week for the purpose j of considering this matter. |
