Spen-I Spen-I cer from the fifth district. The State 1 Convention nominated J.C. Moncure, i for State Treaisurer, and adjourned, i The resolutions and platform describe the party as white people, embracing 1 the democratic, conservative, reform, l beral and while man's parties, -with , all opposing the present usurpation in Louisiana, which is maintained by I force, illegally. They claim that the dominant party has inflamed the negroes, making unity of the whites a necessity; that while recognizing all constitutional rights they protest against enactments compelling social equality ot the raoos; that the much needed reforms can only be cflected by the election of whites. They disclaim dis-claim the alleged intention '.of carrying carry-ing the election forcibly. . They do-nounce do-nounce Gov. Kellogg as a usurper and favor the payment of the State's legitimate debts only. , |
