Show A REESE RiVER BELLE. Th great Summer fandango of the Piutes of this vicinity, says the Reese River Reveille of July 27th, took place in Marshall Canon last night, and was largely attended by Indians and by white spectators. Captain Steve requested us to give a full Jenkins account of the stlair; but we have only space to say that Doughnut Salliewaa the belle of the occasion. Her dress was of striped calico, which was imported im-ported expressly for her by Keenig-shofer Keenig-shofer at a cost of a bit a yard, with rabbit skin flounces and overskirt of bed ticking. Her feet were encased in army brogans, gracefully adorned with bows of rod flannel. Hair au natural. During the intervals between the dances her shoulders were covered hy s, magnificent cloak made of red blanket and trimmed with a fringe of caterpillars. She was the observed of all observers, and the admired of all admirers. A bounteous banquet ot dried grasshoppers and roasted entrails was served to the guests, and was partaken of with great gusto by the majority of the whites present. |
