The match comes off to-day at 2 o'clock, at Agricultural Park, close by Jordan bridge, at the foot of North Temple street. The first prize is a lady's saddle; and to this Mr. C. K. Barratt has added, for the second best equestrienne a picture, any one of a hundred now on display in hie store next to the postofiiee. Several ladies seeing a notice of this fact in yestcr-' yestcr-' day morning's Herald called last evening to make a selection, each pretty darling concluding, of course, that if she didn't win the saddle she would-be sure to secure the picture! How shrewd the ladies are! A lively and interesting timo is expected. ex-pected. , |
