The Liberal convention re-assembled at threo o'clock, when resolutions were announced, which congratulates the people upon the growing disposition to oppose any per-version per-version of civil authority, re-aflirm the principle's set forth at Cincinnati more than a year ago; denounce Congressmen who voted for and retain re-tain the so-called back pay, and applaud ap-plaud those who returned it to the Treasury: regret that the President should so mistake the morality of the American character, and disregard the honor of the American name, as ollicially to sanction the bill, and charge the Republican party with the responsibility of its passage, and demanding de-manding its repeal. They also charge the disordered condition of finances upon the Administration; consider as of paramount importance a resumption resump-tion of specie payment, and hold that the thanks of all freemen tire due to the tribunal which vindicated the right of local trial by jury, and the freedom of the press. A Shite ticket was nominated ns follows: Secretary of Suite, Dietrich Willers; Comptroller, Nelson K. Hopkins; Hop-kins; Attorney General, Daul Pratt; Treasurer, Thomas H. Raines; (.'anal Commissioner, Jan. Jackson; Engineer, Engi-neer, Svlvanus H. Sweet; State Prison Inspector, M. K. Piatt. The con-vention con-vention was adjourned after the usual complimentary resolutions were adopted . |
