Show Theatre. "Cherry and Fair Star" was given for the last time last night, having had a mo t successful run, drawing large audiences to the last. This evening "Stage and Steam" will be reproduced, for one performance perform-ance only. Mr. Marden appears aB Leo Roanelles, the rest of the cast being the Fame as when first produced, with Miss Walters as Nora. To those who have not seen it we may say that the piece abounds in sensation, the first act closing with a Biage robbery, the second with a duel whhpistolsaod bowie knives in a dark room, the third with a highly wrought sensation culminating cul-minating in a terrific explosion which has been threatening death and destruction to tho hero of the piece; while the fourth act ends with a railroad scene, in which the heroine of the drama escapes imminent death by being flung on (ho cow-catoher of a passing train. Mr. Sloan has scoured sc-oured the copyright of the piece. Many who were desirous of seeing it on its first presentation, but were pie-vented, pie-vented, will Lave a 'ait opi ormnity th's eveo'ng. |
