The Democratic senators held a caucus, to-day, and voted to notify the Kepublican caucus that the action of the latter in allowing the minority representation repre-sentation of only one on tho most important im-portant committees is not satisfactory, and the Democrats will not acquiesce in it by designating anyone to fill the vacancies so leu for them. They claim that as they number nineteen and the Liberals number five in the senate, the minoritv should be allowed a represen tation of two members on aach commit tee. The Republicans senatorial caucus have referred the demands of the Democrats Dem-ocrats for increased minority representation represent-ation on the committees, to a sub-committee of five to report at an adjourned meeting to-morrow. The caucus considered con-sidered Saturday's vote regarding the case of Patterson, and decided not to take it up for consideration in the senate, as he is no longer a member of that body. Assisstant secretary of the treasury Richardson is expected to succeed Baut-well, Baut-well, if the latter is elected to the senate.
