Show Theatre. Last nic,ht Mr. Frank Hussey and Miss Blanche Clifton mado their first appearance hero in "Ilaxard," a new sensational play, with tbo scenes laid in Australia. The , lady is a pleasing actress, and has a I sweet voice for singing, while the gentleman as a delineator of negro eccentricities ec-centricities is clever and talented, reminding re-minding one a good deal of Ben Cotton in many of his movements. Tho pieoo is a very attractive one, with somo fine scenes, plenty of plot, incident inci-dent and sensation. Tho closing scene of tho second act, with working boats and steamboats, a fine harbor view by moonlight, and the city of Sidney lighted up in the distance, elicited a warm round of applause. Messrs. Graham, Cogswell, Thome, Harris, and o'.hers, rendered excellent support, and tbo pieco as performed made a very ploasant and enjoyable evening's entertainment. "Hazard" will bo ropoatcd to-night, and will repay a visit. On Friday evening Mr. llusscyand Miss Clifton tako a benetit. |
