Profossor Lay and a numbor of the press gang made another balloon ascent from Woodwards Wood-wards gardens this afternoon, in the presencoofa vast concourse of poople. At a great hight the balloon was caught in a current of wind wbich carried it rapidly over tho bay in the direction of San Leandro. At half past six they wore reported to bo over Centrnville moving rapidly towards Gilroy. Santa Clara, 9. The balloon passed east of here this evening. Its course was southeast. Centrovillo, 9. The balloon paased over this place at 5 p.m. Pleasanton, 9, 5:30 p.m. Balloon just disappeared in the direction of San Jose. San Jose, 9. The balloon from San Francisco camo in sight at this place about 5:15 p.m. and passed a little east of tho town and disappeared at 6 taking a south-westerly course. It was high in the air and there wero no appearanoes of descent when it was last seon. San Francisco, 6. The balloon landed safely last night in the mountains near New Almadon. It took an easterly course to Pleasanton and thence southwesterly south-westerly over Mission and San Joso to tho placo of landing about sixty-five miles from hero. By W. U. Telegraph. MY DEAR MR.
