Show Theatre. Mr. and Mr?. Bates made their re appearance last night and were heartily received. The drama of Pure Gold was well played, the stars appearing to advantage and the company com-pany giving excellent support. This evening "London Assurance" will be presented with a strong and very efficient cast This piece was played one night during the previous engagement of Mr. and Mrs. Bates, and gave such general satisfaction, thai there was a Tery publicly expressed desire for its repetition. We have seldom sel-dom seen a finer piece of actio g than the Sir Harcourt of Mr. Bates. He portrayed the heartless roue to the life, while Mrs. Bates as Lady Gay was all life and vivacity. Our limited space prevents a more lengthy notice, but if our readers wish an evening of pleasant enjoyment go to the theatre to-night and witness "London Assurance." |
