Show I Thou SCHOOL ELECTION i 1 The election of two Democrats out of the five nominees for the Board of Education is gratifying under the circumstances cir-cumstances attending this school election elec-tion The comparatively small Republican Repub-lican majority in the First and SCcbnd Precincts shows what might have been done it all the Democratis voters in those precincts had gone to the polls The candidate from the Fifth precinct being elected by votes from both parties par-ties the Board will not have that partisan par-tisan complexion desired by the Tribune Tri-bune and its followers The election of Sir Toronto is a triumph over the mean and < contemptible attack of the Tribune and Mr Hansens large major I I ity shows what is the sentiment of the people in his precinct We shall now see whether there will be any attempt to control school affairs in the interest of Republicans with the numbers of each party upon it we believe be-lieve It will prove very difficult to accomplish ac-complish wliat was intended With the Influences that have been at work the nonpartisan voters have done very well |
