Show POLICE COURT I Alma Cooks VersIon nf to now Ho Got McDonald Overeont In the police court yesterday Alma I Cook the John Doe charged with 1 stealing an overcoat from expoliceman Frank P McDonald was up for trial and as McDonald did not appear to prosecute the charge Cook was allowed to go on his own recognizance Cook stated to Judge Smith that there was no petit larceny connected with the case at all that It was the result of a plain drunk that he and McDonald were indulging in when they ran short of funds and McDonald suggested that he soak his overcoat to get more money for whisky and accordingly ac-cordingly gave his overcoat to Cook to put in pawn which he did Cooks story is a straight one for it fe known that he could have sold It at several places but as he wanted to redeem the coat he refused to sell It Finally It was pawned and the money spent to continue the debauch and by morning McDonald forgot all about what he had done and had Cook arrested ar-rested by Detective Sheets Nothing will come of the case which is set for today MeMtillins Apcal John McMulHn who was fined 20 In the police court for turning in also alarms to the fire department filed a bond of 50 yesterday and took an appeal ap-peal to the district court |
