Show I I IAHO HOLD MINES W E Hubbard Inspects Two Promising I Prom-ising Producers ITALIAN AND GARRETSON iI i I IN WHICH FTKTE BODIES OF ORE I F ODIS OR ABEEXPOSED J A Bard Makes a Discovery Pertaining Per-taining t Ore Reduction Used In Connection with the Cyanide Process At the Century MeTe Me-Te Stillmans Will Put I a Plant at the New State Activity In the Pit Many Leading Securities Securi-ties Command the Attention of the Brokers W E Hubbard returned yesterday morning from a visit of inspection to the Italian and Garretson gold mines not far from Leesburg Idaho and he expresses himself as being well pleased with the improvements made in these properties since his last visit to that locality lo-cality As is well known Mr HUbbard incorporated in-corporated a company on the Italian mill being in last fall a small stamp mi fal operation at the ground at the time with which the highest grade of ore was treated ana that at a saving of only about 60 per celt of the gold values val-ues leaving exposed in the workings of the property large bodies of low grade mineral assaying from 8 to 10 per ton but which could not be worked by the mill at a profit and in order to mi solve this problem of successful reduction reduc-tion A J Bard has been making experiments ex-periments with the cyanide process at the mine all winter In making these tests according to Mr Hubbard Mr Bard has installed a minature mill with leaching tanks and after exhaustive experiments has succeeded in finding a settling solution being a new discovery by means of which associated with the cyanide pro I cess he has been enabled to save over 95 per cent of the gold values contained con-tained in the ore the process employed I embracing the amalgamation and cyaniding cy-aniding of the ores and so successful have these tests and experiments been that the company has now decided to add to the capacity of the stamp mill until it can handle 50 tons of ore daily I and at the same time a cyanide plant of the same capacity will be installed there being no doubt but that with the I high recovery two mills in operation a very covery of values can be made and that ata cost of only 2 or 3 per ton for mining and milling When in Idaho Mr Hubbard and his I associate George St Clair took up the bond on THE GARRETSON GROUP of seven claims adjoining the Italian and which is to be added to the Italian holdings and Mr Hubbard states that on the dumps of these two properties I there is enough good milling ore to keep a 50ton mill in constant operation for a year to come while in the work lags of these mines there is enough I more mineral blocked out and in sight to keep the plant in operation for another j I an-other twelve months and at the same I time these producers are only slightly and but partially developed I The Italian company has a good water wa-ter power at the mine sufficient to keep I a 50ton mill in constant motion and its it-s stated that by the expenditure of I 300 or 400 more this power can be Increased creased sufficiently for all the requirements require-ments of a 100ton plant requreI I I In speaking of recent developments I on the Garretson under the supervision of George St Clair Mr Hubbard states I that the showing is remarkably fine as In the main workings of this property I prop-erty there is a four foot body of quartz which will carry values of about 930 in gold to the ton while through this vein there is a stringer or pay streak from 9 to IS inches in width which will give average assays of from 4 to 10335 while in a new discovery made by Mr St Clair since returning to the i mine less than two months ago an 18 I inch body of ore has been shown up in I an open cut which goes all the way I from 9 to 17776 in the yellow metal according to tests isade by Assayer Currie of this city and all of this mineral I min-eral while being only partially free I I i milling can be successfully treated by combined amalgamation and leaching I and so well pleased is Mr Hubbard and his associates with the discovery made i by Mr Bard in the finding of a settling i solution which not only insures soluton insure a geatI j 1 ersaving but also a quicker and more I rapid extraction that as soon a arrangements I I ar-rangements can be perfected the capacity j i capa-city of the mill will be increased to 50 I tons daily as previously stated while a 50ton cyanide plant will also be erected 1 |
