DOgrORt GIVEN A l PILL f 1 1 1 J PRESCRIBED BY A FATHER flIrt flI-rt JSOUI f It Was Made of Lead and Adminis tered Slightly at Variance With the Ordinary Directions Paliriyra Mo July 23Last Friday I I night Daniel Rose found Dr J W Norris 1 t Nor-ris in the bedroom of his daughter This forenoon Rose met Norris on the street 1 and fatally shot him with a revolver After Norris fell he drew a revolver and fired two shots at Rose but did not hit him i The affair that caused todays shooting shoot-ing has been the talk of the town since n last Saturday About 1 oclock that morning Dr Norris a leading physician physi-cian of the city carried a ladder to the I residence of Daniel Rose a neighbor ascended to the second story xf the house and entered the room occupied by Katie the pretty daughter of Mr and Mrs Rose Hearing a noise and thinking that burglars had entered the house Mr Rose went to his daughters room where he found Dr Norris partially disrobed There was an encounter in which Mr Rose was badly injured by Dr Norris who finally escaped Miss Rose is 20 years of age fascinating nating and beautiful The next morning morn-ing after the sensational events given above she and her father disappeared Dr Norris appeared as usual at his office but refused to talk about the affair Rose was arrested after the shooting today and lodged in jail There is intense in-tense excitement in Palmyra but no one censures Rose for his act Dr Norris was one of the leading physicians in Marion county His wife is prostrated over the affair and It is feared that she will not recover from the terrible shock
