State street thence north one block to Fourth South thence west one block to Main street thence north on Main through the tribunes to First South thence east one block to State street thence south two blocks to Third South thence east one block to First East thence north one block to Second Sec-ond South thence west one block to State thence north one block to First South thence east to Fifth East thence north one block to Brigham street thence west five blocks on the north side of Brigham street to the monument where the parade will disband SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY It is enough This is the right place Drive on Fifty years ago today Brigham Young stood upon the summit of Big mountain moun-tain at the head of Emigration canyon and used these words Before him was a wilderness of sand and sagebrush Today it is the garden of the Lord A thriving city nestles in the valley of the Great Salt Lake and on all sides of it are farms an orcfaards pouring their t irroducts in upon the markets of the world Civilization has placed its stamp upon the spot where a half century ago the rude hut of the Indian was the only mark of habitation Today a hundred thousand people assemble in this city to celebrate the arrival of 130 pioneers 50 years ago It will be tfie close of the festivities which have occupied nearly a week and it will be the crowning crown-ing event of the celebration The display of i fireworks at Capitol hill at S30 this I evening It will be one of the grandest grand-est pyrotechnical displays ever seen in the United States The set pieces will all be raised ten feet
