Show CAVALRY EXHIBITION I Captain Wright and His Troopers Make a Big Hit I On the lower parade at Fort Douglas Doug-las at 6 p m troop F Ninth United States cavalry gave a most unique and I interesting exhibition Under the command of Captain Harry H Wright a dashing trooper In I all that that term conveys and before a large and appreciative audience I which would have been considerably i augmented had the event been more i extensively advertised the men were put through all of the evolutions of a squadron with frequent changes from I walk to gallop and gallop to trot with an absolute precision delightful to behold be-hold and which would have been an object lesson well bestowed could the local guardsmen have been in attendance attend-ance The deploying as skirmishers the I men dismounting and firing blank cartridges cart-ridges and the behavoir of the magnificently mag-nificently matched horses during the execution of the manoeuvre thrilled the spectators and when at the close of the strictly tactical movements hurdles i hur-dles were leaped and a miniature Cossack Cos-sack show was added the enthusiasm became unboundeq Captain Wright and his brave troopers for they have an enviable record of gallantry in the field made the biggest kind of a hit and will long be remembered by those who were so fortunate as to be present at the fort last evening I |
