Show HOT ON THE TRAIL Hunt for Blauck and Confederates Continued Seattle Wash March 19The hunt for Thomas Blanck and his confederates confeder-ates who escaped from the county jail continues with unabated energy but the ring leader has not only kept out of the way but has also managed to eat pretty regularly There is hardly any doubt that he is concealed In tha heavy timbers near here Monday morning at 9 oclock Blanck appeared at a little schoolhouse some c distance up the hill from the railroad track and asked for food When informed in-formed that he was at a schoolhouse Tie asked who lived in the next house some distance away and made special inquiries as to whether the owner was an officer or took the morning papers The answers being favorable to him he went to the place which is occupied by a Mr Bassett and asked for work and food and on receiving the latter J it offered 30 cents in payment the amount he took from the night jailor Before n returning to the heavy timbers Blanck told Bassett that he had two com 11 c anions waiting for him on the hill Later in the afternoon of the same day k man who answered Blancks description descrip-tion met children on the road to lien ton and obtained food from them 13etWCf sand 9 oclock a fellow o o t4 a o < o 00 i iitfif that the officers think was Ford was found in MrBagleys barn near Renton He took to flight and although shot at with shotguns and Winchester rifles made his escape into the lowlands near Black River Junction ExSheriff Wool ery was on his trail yesterday morning morn-ing but lost the track in the woods He was still in the country last evening eve-ning and news is expected at an early moment of Interesting developments At the time of this writing only three of the nine men who got away have been captured |
