Show i FUNERAL OF A B DUNFORD One of the Victims of the Butte Tragedy Dr Dunford and daughter Miss Leah returned yesterday from Bloomington Ida where they had been performing the last sad offices for their son and brother Alma Bafiley Dunford Who was killed j in the terrible explosion at Butte Dr Dun ford went to Butte to bring the body to Bloomington and Miss Dunford went direct di-rect to the latter place frtom Sat Lake What slight consolation could be derived from so sad a case was vouchsafed to the friends of the young man when they learned that the body was not in the least torn or mangled the only mark on the face being a slight abrasion near the nose death being caused by l blow on the head from come ttylrtg missile The funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Bloomington meetinghouse meeting-house and although the weather was very cold and the snow exceedingly deep there was a very large attendance of friends and mourners The services were conducted ducted by President Budge Bishop Price and Elder Peter Greenhouse Dr Dunford says that no description can convey any adequate idea of the heartrending heart-rending scenes which have been enacted at Butte since the catastrophe happened On the afternoon of his arrival thirty funerals took place and in the forenoon of the same day thirteen victims were laid to rest The coroner was SOh busy he < the doctor had t wait until the next day before the body of his son could be shipped to Bloomington The emblems of mourning were visible on every hand and the expressions of sorrow and walls of anguish were touching touch-ing in the extreme |
