Show TWO DAGE STilTS Brought Against the Od Jordan and Conglomerate Companies Before Judge Nielsen yesterday two damage suits were filed against the Old Jordan Galena Mining company and the Conglomerate Mining campany Carl Jenson the plaintiff in one suit alleges that in May 1877 James C Brown who owned seven and onehalf ares of land near Draper entered into in-to a contract with L E Holden the predecessor in interest of the defefid ant to grant the right for a canal 10 be constructed through the land to supply sup-ply the Galena smelting works with water and that Holden in compensation compensa-tion agreed to furnish Brown water for irrigating his land The plaintiff acquired ac-quired the ownership of the land and alleges that the defendant who succeeded suc-ceeded Holden in the control of the canal ignored the plaintiffs right for Irrigating water during 1898 and in consequence con-sequence suffered damage to hIs lucerne in the sum of 29999 In the other suIt A C Solont Smith is the plaintiff and he asks the same amount of damage on a similar cause of action |
