Show STREET RAILWAY DEAL West Side Line Bought By uah Vale Company I EXTENSION TO BINGHAM I NEW COMPANY SECURES ENTRANCE TRANCE TO CITY CT Line Is Already Built As Far As Garden City and Wil BaExtznded Up Bingham Canyon t Bigh at OnceIower to Come FroP Provo Canyon i The Incorporation o the Valley Railroad Rail-road company of Utah whlchwas effected ef-fected on Aug J but not made public until the filing of the articles of incorporation In-corporation In the county clerks office on Aug IS has been followed by the absorption of one of the local lines of I street railways which will enable the I company to operate from the heart of I the city through the Bingham canyon I and into Bingham direct The Valley Railway company of I Utah which was mcorporated on the date above mentioned with James I Campbell Edmund Wilkes William C Hal and Henry C Rolns of Salt Lake I and Archer S Cook of San Francisco as directors has a capitalization 01 I 200000 divided Into 2000 shares I The road has strong anclal backing back-ing and the entire amount of the total stock of 200000 subscribed and in addition ad-dition 1000 per mile of the money I needed to construct the line has been paid InBuys Buys Vest Side Company The new railway company has had the option on the Vest Side Rapid Transit Railway company for sometime some-time past and the deal whereby It will be purchased and become an Integral part of the Valley Railway company will be consummated In a day or two The negotiations have been carried on between L L Nunn of Provo owner and operator of the West Side line and James Campbell presIdent of the projected pro-jected railway company Mr Nunn named his price for the street car line and after considerable skirmishing and a number of conferences Mr Campbell Camp-bell on the part of the company agreed to accept the offer Neither Mr Nunn nor Mr Campbell would state last night what the amount to be paid was but both admitted that the Vest Side Rapid Transit was about to change hands and would In future be known as the Valley Railway company of Utah Route of Line The present terminus of the WestSide West-Side line Is at Garden City which Is situated about seven miles southwest of Salt Lake but the plan of the new company Is to effect a junction with the trolley line about one mile west of the Jordan river or about four labs from town and three from Garden City The new road then proceeds In a southwesterly south-westerly direction and through Bingham Bing-ham canyon to Bingham One line has already been surveyed and It will be followed up Immediately by the locating corps of engineers One and a half miles right of way through Blngham canon has been obtained and no difficulties dif-ficulties will be encountered in obtaining obtain-Ing the rest of it Electricity will be the motive power and will be obtained from the Teluride Power companys plant In Provo canyon can-yon A new power house will be erected outside the city limits near the Jordan river and the energy from the Telluride plant transmitted across the forty miles of Intervening country at a high I voltage and reduce 1 to a working pressure of 550 vol rotary transformers trans-formers In the new station 1 L Xunn i Is general manager of the Telluride I I Power plant but will not be connected I I with the new railway company otherwise other-wise Construction work wi begin at once I and rushed along as rapidly as circumstances circum-stances will permit but the probable I date of completion I not ascertainable When completed cars wi leave Salt Lake and Bingham every two hours I and I Is calculated to make the distance dis-tance In one hour and ten minutes Part of the passenger rolling stoe J I msili consist of the equipment of thern I West Side line the balance ao been I ordered and In addition several electric locomotives for hauling freight I and ores wi be installed |
